EIZO's 4K monitors ensure extraordinary colour accuracy, high-contrast and consistent images. Its high resolution 4K monitors will support you in all your precision work right down to the slightest detail. 4K resolution gives twice the number of pixels in both height and width of a standard full HD monitor. This quadruples the number of pixels to over 8 million.
A 10-bit colour representation means you can enjoy a huge gamut of one billion colours, which is 64 times as many colours as the 8-bit representation. This means finer colour gradients and smaller spaces between adjacent colours even though a larger than usual colour space is used.
Most of the ColorEdge range fulfils strict softproof requirements based on the draft ISO/CD 12646 standard. Fogra Forschungsgesellschaft Druck e.V. came to that conclusion in the course of testing the monitor. The CG319X was therefore awarded the Fogra "FograCert Softproof Monitor" seal of quality. You will therefore be working on a tested, colour-proof monitor.
All ColorEdge monitors have a chip built inside which has been specifically developed by EIZO Japan for colour critical work.
Our monitors are flicker free even at high contrasts, so your eyes tire less easily and can work on your images for longer.
We designed our monitors to last. No loss of colour, no loss of detail. That’s why they come with a 5 year warranty as standard.
We take pride in our Japanese heritage, bringing the traditions of precision, an eye for detail and crafted beauty to our monitors.
Our monitors display black as black.
Our EIZO ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG3145 HDR monitor shows not grey, not nearly black, but black. Rich, dark, intense and accurate. A typical LCD monitor often displays blacks as pale or faded but EIZO ColorEdge monitors are equipped with a film that helps display an almost true black in every image.
Our colour tones appear the same at all points of the screen, without the brightness fluctuations that you get with a typical LCD. With ColorEdge CG, you can see perfect colour purity no matter where on the screen you view an image, an absolute must for image retouching and colour grading.
Homogeneous luminance distribution and good colour purity are key to achieving very accurate image rendering. The Digital Uniformity Equaliser (DUE) circuit takes care of this. It automatically corrects non-uniformities in terms of luminance and chrominance for all tone values across the entire image area – pixel by pixel.
ColorEdge CG monitors come with a built-in calibration sensor to help you to achieve maximum colour accuracy. The sensor is perfectly matched to the monitor and correlates the entire image so you see a consistent result. The calibration sequence can be set to run automatically, even when your computer is turned off.
RGB meets XYZ
When a LUT is applied it will isolate the RGB input and output each of them with a new value. 1D LUT alterations don’t allow the interaction between R, G and B, which is why ColorEdge CG has 3D LUTs to control every colour tone on the monitor and make sure that each one is perfect.
At EIZO, we have developed a colour software package known as ColorNavigator which calibrates our monitors to perfection. But if you don’t want to go through the set up stages, the range ships with presets installed as standard that are then maintained by our ColorNavigator 7 software. If you’re an advanced user and want to make adjustments to brightness, gamma or white point you can do that too.
